Barangay Naguey envisions for a safer, adaptive, resilient, and environmentally balanced community.

Community residents shall work in unity, formulate and implement plans, programs, and policies through the support and networking with the different line agencies for the development of the community.

LEGAL BASIS OF CREATION:

Barangay Naguey was legally registered under the Philippine Commission Act No. 48 on November 22, 1900. It is one of the oldest barangay in the Municipality of Atok wherein Barangay Pasdong was separated and created on June 18, 1966 by Republic Act No. 4695.

CLIMATE:

It is classified under type “A” climate, having two pronounced seasons. Dry season is from November to April and wet or rainy season starts in the month of May and ends in the month of October.

Barangay Naguey has an average temperature of 25 degrees centigrade at maximum and 16 degrees centigrade at minimum. Thus, it is considered a temperate Barangay.

The area sometimes experience light to heavy rainfall especially when there is typhoon. There is no pollution in the area so the air is not just good but it’s fresh too.

Naguey came from the native word “Nagnag-key” which is a tall grass. It usually grows in all water sides of hills and also along creeks and springs. This is thorny, scaly and hard to exterminate. With its abundance, the locals then called the place Nag-ey which became Naguey later on.
